Mission
The Mitchell Hill Conservancy mission is to ensure continued public access and ownership of San Juan Island’s Mitchell Hill and to promote broad community support for public ownership of Mitchell Hill.

Advocacy
The MHC will maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders while actively encouraging action to ensure this valuable public property is not lost to private development. We will work cooperatively with the Friends of Lopez Hill in their effort to retain public ownership of Lopez Hill and other DNR School Trust Lands.

Promotion
The MHC will mobilize citizen involvement to help achieve our mission through a variety of mediums which may include letter writing campaigns, press releases, letters to the editor of local and regional newspapers, pamphlets, and a website.

Stewardship
The MHC will take the initiative to organize volunteer stewardship activities including noxious weed removal, trash cleanup, trail maintenance, and public outreach and education.
